Extracts of C. zeylanica
roots were effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-
negative bacteria infections of the skin and urinary tract.
Preliminary phytochemical screening of the extracts
showed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids,
sterols, tannins and carbohydrates.
